Brent Alan Trites, 62, of Stilesville, passed away suddenly while vacationing in Florida on November 17th, 2013 at the Gulf Coast Memorial Hospital with his loving wife and best friend by his side.

Brent was born in Moncton, NB on December 27th, 1950 the son of the late Lovell Trites and Irene (Trites) of Stilesville. Brent was known for his tasty maple syrup and ran the Trites Family Sugarbush in Stilesville. Brent’s passion was definitely working in the woods at the sugar camp. He also enjoyed Salmon fishing and just being in the outdoors. He loved his family very much and they all knew how special they were to him. He had a soft spot for his grandchildren, and being Papa was something that he loved, looking forward to their many visits. He had a great sense of humour and had a great smile. Brent was the type of guy, once you met him, you couldn’t help but like him. He left an impression on all those who had the opportunity to meet him, especially when he was in his element at the camp. He took great pride in showing off his trade of making syrup and sharing his delicious maple taffy. Everyone that toured his camp came out with a new appreciation for nature. Brent would want everyone to remember all the good times they shared and how much fun they had over the years.‘What we keep in memory is ours forever, I am only a smile away.”

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Irene; beloved wife, Bonnie (Knowlton) Trites; daughters, Leanne Trites of Moncton, Linsay Flowers (Jamie) of Riverview, step-children, Greg Knowlton (Tanya) of Hillsborough and Jenna Dixon (Rick) of Irishtown; his precious grandchildren, Madison, Mattea, Tristyn, Ethan, Taylor and Jaxen; brothers, Darrell (Joy) of Stilesville, Lindsay (Trisha) of Indian Mountain and Dexter (Juliette) of Irishtown. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, all his extended family, The Knowlton’s, and many good friends.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at theAlbert County Funeral Home on Monday, November 25th, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Christine MacLeod officiating.
